ADE Summit 2025 -Success at scale

From Data Management to Value Creation at Scale

Written by Matti Karell

What an incredible day!

Thanks for being part of ADE Summit 2025. Seeing nearly 300 data enthusiasts come together at Bio Rex was truly inspiring, and your engagement throughout the day made it special. The insights we heard were exceptional – from customer success stories to partner perspectives from our valued sponsors Databricks and Snowflake. A clear theme emerged: data is increasingly central to organizational performance, and the focus is shifting from managing data to scaling value creation.

Key takeaways from the day:

Speed and agility as core capabilitiesTime to value matters more than ever. Speed builds trust, and trust enables data teams to tackle increasingly complex problems. As one of our speakers reminded us: “Plans do not exist in a vacuum.” Even the best-designed strategies evolve as circumstances change. Growth without care rarely lasts, and the ability to adapt becomes a critical strength.

Data’s evolving roleWe’re moving from mandatory reporting to active value creation. Data is no longer on the sidelines—it’s driving innovation and competitive advantage. But with this evolution comes responsibility. “The real question isn’t ‘Can we build it?’ — it’s ’Should we?’” Technology allows us to build almost anything, but strategic focus demands we ask: Will this deliver clear competitive advantage? If a capability is commercially available and doesn’t differentiate us strategically, buying often makes more sense than building. Every custom solution we build brings ongoing maintenance overhead and the responsibility to keep it relevant over time.

Building for sustainable growthThroughout the day, we heard powerful reminders about what it takes to scale successfully. As our keynote speaker Veronika Durgin brilliantly summed up, “Scaling always sounds exciting — faster, bigger, smarter. But scaling doesn’t just multiply what’s working. It multiplies everything.” Growth amplifies both strengths and weaknesses. Scaling well means focusing on alignment, clarity, and responsibility — not just speed.

“Data platforms don’t rot because they’re bad; they rot because they haven’t been taken care of.”

Data platforms require continuous attention and improvement. Stability doesn’t come from standing still but from ongoing planning, maintenance, and iteration—and this care should be embedded into normal DataOps practice, not treated as an afterthought.

AI as an acceleratorAI-ready data products will speed up AI solution adoption, and AI itself will eliminate repetitive tasks from data work. But the fundamentals remain: the right approach to data work and an intelligent data platform create the foundation for data teams to respond to constant change and deliver consistent, fast data product development—now and in the future.

We also shared our vision for leveraging AI within the ADE environment. If you’d like to hear more about this or continue any of the conversations from the day, please reach out—we’d love to connect!

Thank you again for your time, your curiosity, and your contribution to making this our best Summit yet.

Let’s keep the conversation going!
